Sivasagar celebrates 66th Republic Day

SIVASAGAR, January 27: The 66th Republic Day was celebrated in Sivasagar with enthusiasm.

State cabinet minister Sarat Borkotoky hoisted the tri–colour and presided over the march past of armed and police forces and NCC & Scout cadets at Boarding Field.

Speaking on the occasion, Borkotoky said, “Commul harmony in Assamese community is still a prominent feature which had been established by Chaulung Sukafa. There is no place for commulism in Assam.”

Stressing the government’s commitment for development of the State, Borkotoky said, “The Assam Government has been doing its best for all round development in the State.”

A friendly cricket match was also played between Deputy Commissioner’s XI and Sivasagar Taraka Mancha XI.
