Sivasagar celebrates 69th I-Day

SIVASAGAR, August 16: Amid tight security Sivasagar celebrated the 69th Independence Day with patriotic fervour. State Handloom and Textile and Cultural Affairs minister Bishmita Gogoi, accompanied by Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Virendra Mittal and Superintendent of Police, Bibekanda Das, unfurled the tiol tri-colour at Boarding Field in Sivasagar followed by parade by police, CRPF, NçC cadets and students from several schools.

Bishmita Gogoi, in her address, highlighted the efforts of the government to usher in all round development of the State.

Prab Kumar Bora, Madhab Buragohain, Ratul Khatoniar, Dipti Kalita and Hema Gogoi of Sivasagar DC office, in presence of APCC president Anjan Dutta, were given Best Employee awards on the occasion.
