Sivasagar DC assures land pattas for flood and erosion-affected people

From a Correspondent

Joysagar, Jan 28: “There will be more lists of selected beneficiaries which will be published soon. People should be patient and cooperate with the administration in implementing public welfare works. Sivasagar district administration as well as the elected public representatives is fully aware of the sufferings of flood and erosion-affected villagers of the district,” Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner N. Konwar while addressing people affected by flood and erosion.

He added that the administration had been holding frequent meetings and following these, had prepared more lists of beneficiaries who would be given land pattas in other places of the district. Some villagers have been protesting and staging agitation against the Sivasagar district administration, alleging that due to severe negligence of the district administration, hundreds of families of the district had to live in various river embankments and yet the administration had not given them land pattas in other places to rehabilitate them.

Some villagers of Rupahimukh under Amguri Revenue Circle have been staging protests to demand land pattas and these protests had affected the smooth functioning of both the Amguri Revenue Circle Office as well as the Sivasagar Revenue Circle Office. The Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner therefore appealed to the flood and erosion-affected villagers to have patience and to maintain peace.
