Sivasagar DC Office XI defeats Sivasagar PC

SIVASAGAR, Dec 26: The Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Office cricket team led by Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Virendra Mittal won the friendly cricket match against Sivasagar Press Club at Piyoli Phukan Stadium here on Friday. After winning the toss and electing to bat first,  the guest team made 149 runs in 8 overs. Kabir Bora and ba Kalita played exceptiol innings and made 56 and 48 runs respectively.

The Sivasagar DC Office XI comprising Deputy Commissioner Virendra Mittal, Treasury Officer bajyoti Gogoi,  Tourist Information Officer Bidyav Bora,  Sanjib Dey,  Debajit Dey,  D Kumar Patiri,  Dombidhar Taye,  Munuwa Basfor, ba Kalita, Kabir Bora and Santosh Bora demonstrated all round performance to defeat the host team.

Chasing the winning target of 150 runs,  the home team led by Bhairab Munda,  fell short of target by 60 runs. The match which was played on the occasion of Christmas,  was also attended by ADC Dimba th Morang,  Dy.  Controller of Civil Defence Pranjit Dutta,  DIPRO Bijendra Gogoi, teacher Manoj Borthakur and a host of media persons both from print and electronic and others.
