Sivasagar DC, SP visit Assam-galand border area

JOYSAGAR, March 22: Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner rayan Konwar and Superintendent of Police Subudh Kr. Sonowal visited the Assam-galand border area under Sivasagar district on Tuesday.
Both the officers interacted with the border police battalion personnel and tried to find out their various problems. This border area is a sensitive zone and various ga militant groups generally using the secret routes of this area. Miscreants also threaten and ask money from innocent villagers and small tea growers. 
The Sivasagar SP also visited 11th  Assam Battalion’s four camps situated in Gelekey area and heard their grievances. The officers also interacted with local people and many social organizations and tried to know about the problems faced by the people inhabiting this border area and assured them to give proper security. They also said that they would take necessary steps to draw the government’s attention towards their problems.  The DC and SP were accompanied by zira SDO Dr. Sadk Sing, Commandant of 11th Assam Battalion Debandra Deka and Charaidew SDO Abhishikha Baruah.
