Sivasagar DC urges students to be good human beings

SIVASAGAR, June 18: Continuing the efforts initiated by the former Deputy Commissioner of Sivasagar, SS Meekshi Sundaram to recognize the hard work and sacrifice made by the employees of the office of the Deputy Commissioner in running the administrative works and their family as well, Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Virendra Mittal, on behalf of the district administration on Wednesday accorded a warm felicitation to 21 meritorious HSLC and HSSLC students whose father or mother is part of the DC’s establishment. Of the 21 meritorious students hailing from various schools, seven were HSLC candidates, while 14 students were HSSLC candidates.

DC Mittal presided over the programme to felicitate the 21 students - Tibrajit Gogoi (66 pc), Himashree Gogoi (65.67 pc), Kuki Chetia (88 pc), Syed Akil Rahman (62.6 pc), Rajashri Gogoi (88.4 pc), Abhishruti Dutta (77 pc), Arindam Deva Dutta (69 pc), Pradyut Pallav Saikia (77 pc), Sara Khan (74.6 pc), Niraj Gogoi (76.12 pc), Abhilekh Shyam(74.4 pc), Rimpi Phukan (63 pc), Amitra Buragohain (85 pc) and Kaushik Kalita of HSSLC; Himanshu Hazarika, Sanjukta Gogoi (68 pc), Pujamoni Saikia (79.5 pc), Joyshree Kaman (88 pc), Himanshu Deka (67 pc), Priyakhi Chutia (70 pc) and Kukila Bhagawati (66 pc) of HSLC at the Sukafa Conference Hall of the DC’s office. He also felicitated two other students who brought laurels to the district mely, Pringal Pratyush th (HSSLC) and Rejit Konwar (HSLC), with a letter of appreciation and a packet of books. Felicitating the students, DC Mittal urged them to be compassiote towards their friends who somehow could not mage to get good marks in the examition. “You may pass with flying colours but you should not forget that learning is a continuous process,” the DC said.  He also laid stress on ethics and morality and said, “We should try to have a good moral character and should be counted as good human beings.”

While lauding the students for their achievements, Mittal reminded them that they should remain grateful to their parents and teachers who moulded them to face the challenges of life. Additiol Deputy Commissioners Dhiren Hazarika, Hemkanta Pegu, PR. Gharphalia and DN. Morang, EAC ya Borah, Fince & Accounts Officer and other officers along with parents and staff of the DC’s office were also present at the function.
