Sivasagar district administration all set to celebrate I-Day

SIVASAGAR, August 10: The Sivasagar district administration is all set to observe the ensuing 70th Independence Day in a befitting manner. As instructed by the State Government, it has already chalked out to celebrate the day with various programmes in three days from August 13 to August 15.

As per the programme, a yoga display at Deputy Commissioner’s office premises followed by cleanliness and plantation drive, street play, illumition of office buildings and debate, art and quiz competition at Sibsagar Govt. HS and MP School among the students will be held on August 13. Among various other programmes, a procession and rally will also be organized on August 14. To celebrate the occasion, a cultural function will also be organized at Yuva Dol on the evening of August 14. Like the preceding years, the main programme of the celebration of Independence Day, which is to be held centrally at Boarding Field on August 15, will start with the playing of prabhat pheri. This will be followed by hoisting of tiol flag in all residential buildings, government, semi-government offices and educatiol institutions, processions of school and college students to the parade ground, swahid tarpan by VIP, hoisting of tiol flag centrally by the VIP, parade, cultural programmes, felicitation of freedom fighters, distribution of awards and friendly football match between district administration and Sivasagar Sangbadik Santha.

The Deputy Commissioner, rayan Konwar, has requested all the people of the district to be present in the programme so as to make it a grand success.
