Sivasagar district administration all set to publish citizens' roll

JOYSAGAR, Dec 30: Sivasagar district administration is ready to publish the draft NRC on the midnight of December 31. This was revealed by Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner N. Konwar at a press meet held at the DC’s conference hall on Friday.
 In Sivasagar district, there are a total of 6.38 lakh applications from citizens to enroll their mes in the NRC. The NRC authorities have found 10,000 applications doubtful and the documents are being re-verified, said the DC.
 In Sivasagar district, a total of 22 NRC Sewa Kendras are in more disturbed areas while 13 NRC Sewa Kendras are in less sensitive areas. The administration has beefed up security measures to protect and NRC Sewa Kendras and also to deal with any law-and-order situation arising after the publication of the draft NRC, he added.
 People can see the NRC list in the respective NRC centres and those who want to file any complaint or request to any kind of rectification regarding the inclusion of mes in NRC, they can appeal to the NRC Sewa Kendra officers during office time till January 15.  ADC, Sivasagar, Moon Gogoi, DIPRO S.Gogoi and Executive Magistrate PJ Sarmah were also present at the press meet.
