Sivasagar district records 79.72 pc pass percentage in HS fil exam

Joysagar, May 30: Sivasagar district has shown good performance in the 2017 AHSEC fil exams, results of which were declared on Tuesday. In Sivasagar district, a total of 8,374 students from different HS schools and colleges had appeared in this year’s fil exam. Out of these students, a total of 6676 students were able to pass in the examition. Out of these, a total of 1,392 students were able to secure first division, 2,301 students were able to secure second division and 2,983 students secured third division. The total pass percentage in the district is 79.72 per cent.

Sivasagar Government HS and MP School had a total of 71 students in Arts stream and all passed while in Science stream, 58 students appeared in the exam and all passed. In Commerce stream, 53 students appeared and 51 students were successful.

 On the other hand, a total of 59 students appeared from Sivasagar Bezbaruah HS School in Science stream and all passed. Seven students secured first division and one of them secured star marks while four students obtained letter marks. A total of 48 students secured second division and four others secured third division.

 From Thanuram Gogoi Memorial Government HS School (Arts), a total of 142 students had appeared in the exam and out of them, four students secured first division and one secured star marks while 57 students secured second division and 75 students were able to secure third division.

Sivasagar Commerce College recorded 83.66 per cent pass percentage. Total 104 students appeared from this institution out of which 23 obtained first division, 32 obtained second division and 32 obtained third division, seven students were able to secure star marks and 25 students obtained letter marks.

Sivasagar’s prominent women’ educatiol institution, Fuleswary Girls’ HS School also came out with satisfactory result. In Arts stream, total 122 candidates had appeared and 28 secured first division, 75 secured second division and 19 got third division. Four girls obtained star marks and 31 got letter marks from this institution.

Another women’s college, Sivasagar Girls’ College recorded 87.87 per cent pass percentage. Out of 33 students, 29 were able to succeed. Besides, one private institution Sarathi Junior College came out with bright colours as Ankita Chetia from this college was able to secure the highest marks in History (98) in the State.

 Sivasagar Junior College also came out with good results as in all three streams, the pass percentage was 100 per cent. In Computer, Subasa Bordoloi secured highest marks (97) and Rajmohan Gogoi secured highest marks in Geology (94) and Priyanka Kumari and Ayushi Baheti secured 97 respectively in Accountancy from this institution.
