JOYSAGAR, June 22: Sivasagar district has been achieved second rank in Assam in construction of Prime Minister Awash Yoja houses in this fiscal year. As per information received, Sivasagar district administration has been able to built a total of 15,931 PMAY houses in different parts of the district within the fiscal year 2011-12 to 2015-16, against the target of total 16,755 houses to be built. Besides, Sivasagar district was also marked with the pride of building the second house in the entire State under PMAY scheme and this second house of the State was allotted to a poor widow and daily wage labourer Surton Begam who is a resident of Gariachiga Gaon under Borguri Panchayat of Sapekhati Development Block under Sivasagar district.
