Sivasagar Divas celebrated

Joysagar, July 2: Sivasagar Divas was celebrated in Sivasagar Sadar on Saturday to remember the day when the Sivasagar subdivision became a district on July 1, 1983. The central programme was organized in Sivasagar Yubadol auditorium where the Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner formally lit the iugural lamp. Deputy Commissioner rayan Konwar said that the district administration had been preparing so many development schemes for the development of Sivasagar. A marathon was also organized from mti Chariali to Boarding Field of Sivasagar. Heavy rainfall played spoilsport in the celebration of the Divas. But despite the bad weather condition, hundreds of people took part in the harmony walk which was held around Borpukhuri of Sivasagar. In the evening a colorful cultural function was also held at the Yubadol auditorium where popular singers enthralled the audience with their songs.
