Sivasagar DTO collects Rs 25.67 cr revenue

SIVASAGAR, March 7: The district transport office (DTO) has collected Rs 25.67 crore in revenue in the 2017-18 fincial year, around 67 per cent of the target of Rs 38.96 crore. According to sources, the DTO office has collected a total of Rs 25,67,96,206 w.e.f. April 1, 2017 to February 28, 2018.  More than 300 cases were filed against those violating the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act in the month of February, 2018. A total of 39 vehicles were seized for violating norms of MV Act during the month of February and also able to realize a spot fine of Rs. 22,200 against 62 cases.  The transport office has initiated strict action against the riders/drivers of the vehicles, driving without helmets and seat belts. Accordingly, 119 and 31 M.V. cases were registered against them respectively.
