Sivasagar experiences new flavour of drama

SIVASAGAR, February 22: People of Sivasagar on Sunday experienced a unique flavour of drama which they had never tasted before.

At a time when many drama groups are facing severe fund crunch, noted director Sapunjyoti Thakur under the banner of tya Charcha Kendra of Dergaon approached the people of Sivasagar to exhibit a new creation in the history of drama in Assam called ‘sutal at’ (courtyard drama).

Artistes of tya Charcha Kendra, which included Pabitra Saikia, Prabin Bora, Bhairab Bora, Satyen Saikia, banita Dutta, Debajit Dutta, Mriganka Dutta and Kalpajyoti Barua performed the play Rodalipamat Drishyantar in the courtyards of Sibsagar tya Mandir, noted social activist Saurav Chaliha (Liku) at Phukan gar, Gitika nda Bordoloi at Gakpatty and at the Chaulung Syukafa Indoor Stadium.

tya Charcha Kendra’s Rodalipamat Drishyantar is based on eminent dramatist Prafulla Chandra Bora’s main play.
