Sivasagar recalls Swahid Piyoli Phukan

SIVASAGAR, September 24: The Rongpur  Ancient  Archeaological  Conservation Society,  Sivasagar  organized  Swahid Smriti Divas  at  the  Swahid Piyoli  Phukan Udyan, located beside  the historic  Borpukhuri  in Sivasagar on Thursday.

Every  year  on September  24 ,  the  Society observes the day as Swahid Smriti Divas  to  recall  the contribution of Swahid Piyoli Phukan who showed extreme valour  and  bravery against the British.

A public meeting was also arranged on the occasion. Earlier, Dharma Baruah explained the importance of the day and asked people to imbibe the ideals and courage of the martyrs.
