Sivasagar to host All Assam Bhao Xamaroh

SIVASAGAR, Nov 2: Preparations are on to organize All Assam Bhao Xamaroh from December 23 to December 29 in Sivasagar. A premier socio-cultural and sports organization of Sivasagar, Lengdon Club, in collaboration with Old Amolapatty Gohain Gaon mghar Samaj, will organize the Bhao Xamaroh at tghar Mancha of Old Amolapatty Gohain Gaon mghar Samaj.

A strong organizing committee of 100 members with Romen Borpatra Gohain as president, Diganta Rajkhowa as working president, Shankar Buragohain and Rupjyoti Gogoi as joint secretaries and Amrit Buragohain as treasurer has been formed for smooth conduct of the seven-day event. A member of the organizing committee told The Sentinel that the Xamaroh was being organized with an aim to popularise bhao, one of the cultural treasures for Assamese society left by Mahapurush Srimamanta Sankardeva.

He said bhao teams from across the State could participate in the Xamaroh which was being organized with a budget of Rs. 4 lakh.
