Six Adivasi Tiger Force rebels bbed

GAON/BATADRAVA, Feb 7: Six militants belonging to Adivasi Tiger Force (ATF), a rebel outfit of Assam, were apprehended at Dharamtul, near Bishnu Mandir in a joint operation conducted by gaon and Raha police led by gaon Additiol Superintendent of Police, Sanjib Saikia and Yashobonto th, officer in-charge of Raha Police Station, on Monday night.

According to police sources, the arrested cadres have been identified as Milan Bhuyan of Rajagaon, the district commander, Bihu Kurung of zira, CR Mangyang of Twensang (galand) , Rajen Garh of Dabaka,  and Ajoy Singh Ghatowar of Moran and Rasraj Biswash of Sopur. Police also recovered huge cache of arms, including six 7 .65 mm pistols, 96 live rounds, 6 cartridges, 10 mobile handsets, ATM card, PAN Card, cash Rs 5,000 and lots of objectioble materials from the possession of the apprehended militants. The interrogation of the bbed militants was being done by gaon Police at Raha.

Talking to media persons, Devraj Upadhay, gaon Superintendent of Police, said, “Milan Bhuyan, ATF, gaon district commander is a dreaded militant involved in many killings and was operating in several parts of the district for a long time. He was apparently responsible for recruitment of new members and setting up of new camps in the district. The Adivasi Tiger Force has links with Maoists groups and the Maoists are assisting the force with money and sophisticated arms.”
