Six arrested for kidpping bid

Chirang, July 18: Police have arrested six persons for attempt to kidp a girl in Chirang district on Sunday evening. Police said Md Nijam Ali (28) of  Baikhungaon, Md Taibor Rahman (29) of Satipur, Hanif Ali (25) of Baikhungaon, Md jrul Sk (36) of Satipur, Md Zakir Hussain (28) of Satipur and Saja Ali (25) of Satipur- all  under Dhaligaon police station in Chirang district were arrested on Sunday evening for allegedly trying to kidp an Adivasi girl from Deosri area under Runikhata police station. Police said the youths allegedly tried to kidp the girl by pulling her inside a vehicle (AS -01 AU/8258). The girl raised an alarm by shouting following which the local people caught the six accused and later handed them over to the police. A case was registered against them at Runikhata police station. They were produced in court at Kajalgaon in Chirang and sent to jail.
