GAON (HAIBORGAON), March 17: Special Operation Team of gaon Police, in a 12-hour long incessant special operation on Thursday night, apprehended a gang of bank robbers from various spots of the district and also recovered one stolen CPO and a gas cylinder from their possession. According to sources of police, the bbed crimils have been identified as Birinchi Tamuli of Borpathari Sutargaon, Minty Borah of Pathari Gayangaon, Burnham Sabbath of Kaliabor, Ushman Ali, Rabbul Islam, and Sariful alias Raful of Julia Udmari Balikatia village. In a press conference held at the conference hall of gaon police reserve, Superintendent of Police Sankarbrata Raimedhi said that the gang was involved in a recent bank robbery case in the district. The gang looted a branch of Assam Graimin Vikash Bank and stole one CPU and a gas cylinder from the bank. But police, on basis of their statements, were able to recover the stolen items from a house in gaon town at night itself, Raimedhi added further.
