Six candidates in fray in Margherita LAC

MARGHERITA, March 19: Six candidates have submitted their nomition papers for 124 No Margherita LAC where the major fight will be between former minister and heavyweight Congress candidate Pradyut Bordoloi and BJP candidate Bhaskar Sharma. But among the six candidates, 31-year old Nidan Purty of Bharat Bikash Manch is the youngest.  Nidan Purty is also the organizing secretary of Adivashi Suraksha Manch, a non-political organization of Assam and also State committee organizing secretary of Bharat Bikash Mancha. In Margherita Constituency tea tribes community comprises 41,051 voters, second highest after the Assamese community which comprises 45,098 voters. Nidan Purty told this correspondent that Bharat Bikash Manch’s main agenda was to work for the uplift of farmers, workers, tea tribe people and general people in every sector. Bharat Bikash Manch has fielded total 18 candidates in this assembly election.
