Six coaches clear Coaching Training program

SHILLONG, Jan 2: The Meghalaya Basketball Association (MBA) today informed that recently six State Coaches have passed in their respective Coaching Training program held in 2016-17 conducted by FIBA (Intertiol Basketball Federation) and WABC (World Association of Basketball Coaches) and also two State Refereees have passed in the ‘B’ panel Examition conducted by BFI (Basketball Federation of India).

Andrew S. Suting and Sanju Das have passed in the FIBA Level-1 Coaching certification Courses held at Aizawl from 30th October to 5th November, 2017.

Again, Andrew S. Suting has also passed in the WABC level-1 Coaching certification Courses held at Bangalore from 9th-14th May, 2017.

Dulon Banjop Kharsati also passed in the WABC Level-1 Coaching Certification Courses held at Pondicherry from 26th-31st May, 2017.

In the recent WABC Level-1 Coaching Certification Courses held at Aizawl from 23rd-28th November 2017, the coaches who passed the courses are Ialambha Kharbhih, Larihun A. Warjri and Earl Francis Lyngdoh.

Furthermore, the State also have two new qualified referees Rold H. Kharumnuid and R. Khrawbok Khongliar who passed in the Referees Examition conducted by the ‘Basketball federation of India’ at the ‘34th Youth tiol Basketball Championship’ held at Hyderabad from 1st-8th July, 2017. The total number of qualified referees in the State has rise up to Eleven.

Meanwhile, MBA joint secretary Dold Steven Wahlang said, “I congratulate these coaches and referees on achieving their mile stone and also at the same time urge them in striving for higher levels in the future in order that the playing standard of our Players especially the young ones may rise to a competitive level in the tiol Championships.”
