Six drug peddlers apprehended

Guwahati, May 7:The Changlang Bn of Assam Rifles under the aegis of Dao Division apprehended six drug peddlers on nights  of May 5 and 6. Four of these drug peddlers were apprehended from the check post established at the Longran and the other two from Yongchik. A total of 930 gms Opium was recovered from these drug peddlers. All these drug peddlers have been handed over to PS Changlang. The drug mece has been effecting the youth of the region and these apprehensions have given a strong blow to this mece and will serve as deterrence to others. The Assam Rifles troops have once again lived upto the motto of “Sentinels of the North East” and “Friends of the North East People”. This was stated in a press release.
