Six injured in Jorhat bus-truck collision

JORHAT, May 11: Six people were seriously injured while 20 passengers sustained minor injuries after the bus they were travelling in from Mariani to Bokakhat via the Cinmora area of Jorhat met with an accident near Cinmora Bagdhora ONGC colony turning.

Eyewitnesses said that the bus (AS 03 F 1135) collided head-on with a truck of the FCI (Food Corporation of India) (AS 04 AC 2494) and that the bus was trying to save a cyclist who came in between the two vehicles moving in the opposite direction. The injured have been admitted to JMCH and the condition of the driver of the bus is stated to be critical. The injured also include four children.
