Six injured in mishaps

SHILLONG, Sept 8: A total number of six people sustained grievous injuries in different roads accidents in Meghalaya.  A Maruti car heading towards Sohiong from Shillong was involved in a collision with another Maruti car proceeding towards Shillong. The incident happened at 7th Mile in Upper Shillong, East Khasi Hills District on Wednesday night. The driver of the Maruti car, Shemborlin Khongsngi (48) and another occupant of the other vehicle, Phiarta Kurbah (28) sustained injuries and they have been shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital by the 108 Emergency Service Ambulance based in Mawphlang.

In another incident, driving up a steep slope a Mahindra Bolero rolled down and overturned after it developed some technical sg. Two occupant of the vehicle sustained injuries during the mishap which happened at Urmasi U Joh under Mawryngkneng Block, East Khasi Hills on Wednesday night. The 108 Emergency Service Ambulance based in Smit helped in shifting the injured to Smit PHC.

A Guwahati bound motorbike from Shillong crashed into a wall on the side of the road at Shangbangla under Umling Block, Ri Bhoi District Wednesday evening. The pillion rider Arpan Baruah (21) sustained injuries and has been shifted to Nongpoh Civil Hospital by the 108 Emergency Service Ambulance based in Nongpoh. In another accident, a motorist proceeding towards Dalu from Tura sustained injuries when the motorbike collided with a TATA Sumo coming from the opposite direction. The incident happened at Darenggre under Gambegre Block, West Garo Hills District Wednesday evening. The 108 Emergency Service Ambulance based in Asang helped in shifting the injured, Chengbat R. Marak (36) to Tura Civil Hospital.
