Six KLPF militants held at Bokajan

HOWRAGHAT, Jan 19: Six ultras of Karbi Liberation People’s Force (KLPF) were apprehended from Jilangso area under Bokajan police station during the joint operation of Assam police security forces on Sunday night.

According to police sources, State police and 8th Jat Regiment of the Army launched an operation at Jilangso near Gandhipur on Sunday when militants of the newly–formed outfit fired upon the security forces.  During the operation two linkmen of KLPF were also bbed.

The apprehended ultras have been identified as Rakesh Ingti, Andres Teron, Biru Teron, John Teron, Babu Teron and Rupsingh Kro, the police sources added. The linkmen have been identified as Biren Ingti and Mohan Teron.

One 9 mm pistol with one magazine and three live ammunition, two .22 pistol with two magazines and 12 live ammunition, six UBGL gredes, 8 live rounds of AK series assault rifle ammunition, seven mobile phones, 30 SIM cards, two pen drives and KLPF letter pads were recovered from the arrested ultras, added the sources.
