Six public toilets iugurated

JOYSAGAR, Oct 9: Sivasagar Municipal Board in association with the district administration formally iugurated six public toilets in various parts of Sivasagar town on Monday. The public toilet in Laxmith Bezbaruah Park of the town was iugurated by the Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner, N Konwar. In his speech he said that a total six public toilets were constructed by the SMB under the Sixth Pay Commission and as part of the Prime Minister’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. He hoped that the problem of open defecation would be reduced in the town. SMB chairperson M Sinha iugurated the public toilet in Darbar field area. Other toilets iugurated are in BG Road, in front of Sivasagar Government School, in front of the historic Shiv Dol, Dolmukh Chariali, and one in Jengonikotia Chariali area. The toilets have been constructed at a cost of around Rs 45 lakh, said sources.
