Six Security Personnel's of State Agriculture Minister were Injured after the Convoy was Hit by a Speeding Dumper near Jhanji,Assam

JORHAT, July 25: State Agriculture Minister's security personnels injured after the convoy was hit by a speeding dumper. At least six persons, including the driver of a security vehicle in the convoy were injured when the vehicle (AS-25 DC 1311) was hit by a speeding dumper (AS-04 AC-8859) . The vehicle was moving towards Jorhat from Sivasagar. The incident took place near Jhanji Hahchora Tinali on the NH-37 under Amguri Police Station in Sivasagar district.

The convoy jeep skidded off the road into a wayside pit. The driver and handyman of the dumper fled from the scene soon after the incident, said police sources on Wednesday.

All injured personnel, including the driver of the Agriculture Minister, were rushed to a nearby Community Health Centre. They were identified as Ratan Sonowal, Hitesh Das, Kedar Ali, Debojit Das, Babul Rongpi and driver Debeswar Medhi. Five vehicles were on their way to Dibrugarh to pick up Agriculture Minister Atul Bora who had landed at Mohanbari Airport in Dibrugarh. Later, the damaged jeep was taken to Teok Police Station while four other vehicles rushed to pick the minister from Mohanbari Airport.

Atul Bora, who was on his way to Golaghat, inspected the accident site near Jhanji Harhchora on the NH-37 and also took stock of the condition of the six injured persons and his security vehicle that was damaged severely. Later, police seized the stone-laden dumper and picked up both the driver and handyman of the dumper.
