Six trucks carrying smuggled coal seized

Joysagar, March 18: Sivasagar District Transport Department and  Sivasagar Police joint operation team seized as many as six coal smuggling trucks from Simaluguri and Sunpura area on Saturday night. The trucks were seized for transporting coal which was smuggled from the government coal depot. In this operation, Sivasagar District Executive Magistrate PJ Sarma was also present and he supervised the operation following government instruction to regulate the illegal coal business in upper Assam, sources revealed.
