SJAM to contest in 40 BTC constituencies

KOKRAJHAR, March 4: The Sanmilita Jagosthiyo Aikya Mancha (SJAM), an umbrella organization which got landslide victory in the last parliamentary election held in 2014,  is keen to contest in the forthcoming BTC election. Talking to media persons in Kokrajhar, Lafiqul Islam Ahmed, media coorditor of the SJAM and also general secretary of the All Bodoland Minority Students’ Union (ABMSU), said that the SJAM had decided to fight in the BTC election and the candidates in first phase would be declared on March 7 in Kokrajhar. Ahmed said that in the first phase the SJAM would announce the mes of candidates for 20 BTC constituencies.  He also said that the SJAM will contest from 40 BTC constituencies. Islam expressed confidence that SJAM would sweep the BTC polls and form the next council.
