SKKNS supports VAB 2015

SHILLONG, June 28: The executive committee meeting of the Synjuk Ki Khlieh Nongshynshar Shnong of Mawkynrew constituency was held on June 25. The meeting discussed the Village Administration Bill (VAB) 2014 and VAB 2015, especially the removal of Section 5, 8 and 16 from VAB 2014. After going through the two bills thoroughly, the committee found that the VAB 2015 is more “favourable” and decided to back it. Admitting the fact that the Bill they support may not be a perfect one, the Synjuk, however, felt that they needed to support the Bill so that it gets the Governor’s assent and becomes a law. They further said that the Bill can later be amended from time to time, “but first it needs to get recognize by law so that the Dorbar Shnong and the Headmen are empowered”. The Synjuk ki Khlieh Nongshynshar Shnong further urged other Synjuk Rangbah Shnongs to back the VAB 2015 so that the Governor can do the needful.
