SKNSKBUH to march to Secretariat on November 5

Shillong, Nov 3: Differences cropped up traditiol heads of Ri-Bhoi district over the decision of the Synjuk Ki Nongsynshar Shnong Ka Bri U Hynniewtrep (SKNSKBUH) to march to the state secretariat on November 5.

While, the Dorbar Ki Rangbah Shnong Ri Bhoi (DRSRB) have agreed to take part in the march, another group-Synjuk Ki Rangbah Shnong Eastern Ri-Bhoi (SKRSERB)consisting of 80 villages will skip the march.

The SKRSERB today expressed shock over the rejection of the SKNSKBUH to the talk offer of the government even as it said that the executive of the headmen’s body from Eastern Ri-Bhoi had resolved to suggest the SKNSKBUH to participate in the talks.

“The rejection of talks is the major failure of the SKNSKBUH since the people have been anxiously waiting that the synjuk (headmen’s body) and the government share their problems through discussions,” president of the SKRSERB Field Marshal Mawphniang said.

Moreover, the SKRS Ri Jaintia today informed that it will take part in the march to secretariat on November 5.

Further, the SKNSKBUH today urged the protestors to assemble at Laban Sports Club at10.30 am before marching towards the state Secretariat.

The SKNSKBUH also clarified on the reasons for rejecting the talks offer of the government.  According to the headmen’s body as per the letter the government wanted to discuss only the VABs, but there are other demands of the SKNSKBUH.

The SKNSKBUH also demanded that the Chief Minister, Dr Mukul Sangma clarify to the public on their various demands during the March on November 5.
