SMILE conducts public awareness programme

Itagar, February 1: Indo Global Social Service Society (SMILE) conducted a programme to sensitize and create awareness among public on various social issues, their rights and entitlements and government schemes at Nyorch, harlagun yesterday.

The program aimed to create awareness and curiosity among the younger generation about social issues, rights and entitlements.

Resource person of the programme Patey Tayum, Chairman of Aruchal Civil Society, highlighted the roles of NGOs in driving the society in right path. He urged the youth groups, village welfare committees, individuals to come forward and play active role in the development of society with the help of NGOs.

He also highlighted on various rights and entitlements, most importantly of RTI, its functioning and how an individual can use RTI for the betterment of society. He also briefed about RTE Act and its usefulness.

One of the team members of ACS Bengia Seema had a brief introduction of ILP and its importance in state like Aruchal Pradesh.

The program was attended by 30 participants.
