SMSS approaches Police Accountability Commission

GOLAGHAT (Dhekial), Jan 5: The victims of Golaghat  Police inhuman atrocities and brutality on Satra Mukti Sangra Samiti (SMSS) leaders lodged a complaint  before the Police Accountability Commission on Friday seeking justice for the alleged inhuman atrocities by the DSP and OC Golaghat. The general secretary of SMSS, Bidyut Saikia said that a complaint was lodged before the Police Accountability Commission of the DGP office for seeking justice against inhuman atrocities, assault and disproportiote use of force by the DSP Partha Protim Saikia and OC of Golaghat police station, Garga rayan Bora. He said that on December 19, 2017, he along with assistant secretary Debabrata Saikia and Golaghat district committee president Mril th had gone to the Deputy Commissioner’s office for submitting a memorandum to the Chief Minister regarding the Bogidhola TE incident where more than 14 labourers were injured after the tea estate owners resorted to open firing.

 After submitting the memorandum to the magistrate they spoke to the media persons about the Golaghat Superintendent of Police’s arrangement of preference and facilities in the jail to the Bogidhola TE owner.

Then DSP Partha Protim Saikia and OC Garga rayan Bora and his police team mercilessly and brutally beat them in presence of media and public. Besides, DSP and OC Golaghat used very abusive and indecent language in public place. The victims approached the Police Accountability Commission for justice and action against the DSP and OC of Golaghat for alleged inhuman atrocities.
