Smuggled cattle seized

Shillong, Sept 11: Border Security Force (BSF) personnel in Meghalaya seized 29 cattle which were being smuggled into Bangladesh. According to the BSF authorities in the first incident 17 cattle laden in a truck were seized they were being transported into Bangladesh from the bordering area of Chiringiri in South Garo Hills district. Meanwhile, in another haul the BSF troops seized another 12 cattle from Baldamgiri area in West Garo Hills and Kasinda, East Khasi Hills of the state. “Smugglers are using different disguised techniques to smuggle the cattle from India to Bangladesh but well trained BSF troops are alert to foil such attempts,” BSF authorities said.
