Smuggled FCI wheat recovered

From a Correspondent
JORHAT, September 30: A team of police led by TSI Dibya Jyoti Dutta, after receiving specific input about unscrupulous traders stocking smuggled FCI (Food Corporation of India) wheat stack, raided and recovered 10 bags of wheat of 50 kg each, totaling to five quintals from an abandoned shop in Jorhat. Notably, the shop, which was earlier an illegal country liquor selling wine outlet, belonged to one Deepak Sepoti and is behind an Assam Oil petrol pump opposite Hotel GK Palace in the Lahoty area. Police believe that after a series of raids conducted against illegal sale of country and foreign liquor, crimils are now focusing on the illegal trade of wheat and cereals of the FCI by smuggling stacks out of the BG Yard.
