Smugglers bbed along Indo-Bangla border

SHILLONG, July 13: Following tip off, the Border Security Forces on Sunday apprehended one Indian tiol along the BOP in Damdama on charges of smuggling. The smuggler, identified as Tarseng Ch Marak (20) of Damdama, was trying to sneak into Bangladesh from India, a press release said. BSF has recovered one gun from his possession. The release said that, on his lead, BSF troops further bbed one Jackson Sangma (25), of Rasagiri, South Garo Hills and recovered one more Indian muzzale loaded gun with pellet chere from his residence. Both the apprehended persons have been handed over to the police.

In another incident, BSF troops along with Meghalaya police, bbed two persons identified as Raksonga Momin (31) and Medilin Ch Momin(18) and recovered seven detotors, PEK-250 gm, Safety fuse-24 inches from their possession.

In one more incident, the BSF troops on the same day apprehended one Indian tiol identified as Baluilui Khongsait (28) with one Bolero Pickup vehicle while he was trying to smuggle some sacks loaded in the vehicle to Bangladesh. The party recovered 1,950 Kgs spati (pears) and seized bolero Pickup vehicle bearing registration number ML – 05-M-0557. However, the suspected smugglers maged to flee towards Bangladesh.
