Social awreness programme organised

KOKRAJHAR, Oct 3: A grand public rally on ‘Beti Bachao Beti Badhao’ and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan was conducted by the 16th Bn. SSB along the Indo-Bhutan border on Saturday. In the rally 650 students, 25 teachers and over 100 villagers of Hatisar, Sopur, Shimlaguri, Maiguri, Khagrabari, Dharampur, Phulbari and Airpowali and 100 SSB personnel participated.

The SSB also organized cultural programme for school students and SSB personnel where a total of 10 cultural groups presented their items. The Deputy Commissioner of Chirang, Rupak Kumar Mazumdar, DIG of Section Head Quarter of the SSB Amit Kumar and BS Tharkoti, A.O, Kokrajhar were present in the programme as guests. Prizes to all the participants were distributed by the VIP and guests. Medical facilities were extended to 241 people. They were treated and distributed medicines free of cost. Besides, veteriry medical facilities were also extended to 300 animals including poultry birds.
