Social worker passes away

Golaghat (Dhekial), June 12: Social worker and Khumtai Samabai Samiti Board of Director Deben Bailung breathed his last at a private hospital in Golaghat recently. He was 69. Deben Bailung sustained injuries in his body in road accident that took place at Butolikhowa of Khumtai when he was coming back home from a marriage ceremony on May 9. In the accident, one person died on the spot and six others were injured. Later, Deben Bailung was under medical treatment.

Bailung was involved in social activities in his locality in Kachupathar. He was widely known as pathak. He was the chief founder of Kachupathar Sankari Kola Krishi Bikash Kendra. He had taken special initiative to spread am dharma among the people.  Besides, he was also famous among the villagers for his herbal medicines. His demise was widely mourned.
