DOOMDOOMA, July 11: Anowara Begum, wife of Dr M Ullah, a leading social worker of the town, died in Dibrugarh recently due to old-age ailment. She was 86 and is survived by three daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren. She was closely associated with Doomdooma Mahila Samity for 15 years and actively participated in women-related welfare activities. Her husband predeceased her and was a very popular doctor during the 60s and 70s when doctors were less in number in this tiny industrial township of Upper Assam.
