Social worker passes away

DEMOW, April 10: Bhupen Borgohain (71), one of the founders of ULFA, a social worker and Principal of St. John School, died on Tuesday morning at NEGRIMS in Shillong.

Bhupen Borgohain was suffering from diabetes and kidney problem since long. He was the uncle of Monika Borgohain Chetia, wife of Anup Chetia, former ULFA leader. Business establishments remained closed as a mark of respect to the departed soul.

Demow Press Club, All Assam Bengali Youth Students’ Federation (AABYSF), Demow Regiol Committee, Demow Handball Club along with other local organizations condoled his demise. He leaves behind his wife, three sons and a host of relatives.
