Social worker passes away

SIVASAGAR, April 27: Hasna Ullah, former principal of Nazira Girls’ HS School, popular social worker and poet, passed away in Guwahati at a nursing home on April 24. She was awarded as a distinguished teacher of the district by the District Education Department and was felicitated by the Nazira Mahila Samity, the Nazira Mohila Karmachari Santha and the Tanzim Mahila Samity. Former minister and her classmate Dr Hema Probha Saikia, the Nazira Natya Samity, opposition leader in the Assembly Debabrat Saikia have condoled the demise of Hasna Ullah. A host of other organisations of Nazira and Simaluguri also mourned her death. She leaves behind two daughters and a son.
