Solar lights distributed in remote villages

DIPHU, April 26: Solar lights (lanterns) were distributed to 90 households in Sarmung Singr, Longki Bey, Jengran Ronghang and Vophong Terang villages of Sochengdheta Balijuri under Rongmongve Block of Karbi Anglong district on Sunday. These lanterns were distributed by the Sri Sri Rural Development Project (SSRDP) under Light A Home Project of Art of Living, Banglore.

The solar lights were distributed by Dr Haneef Mohammod of Balijuri Sub-centre. Karem Lekthe, gaonbura, Longbir Ingti, Kamsing Kro, Robi Sing Ingti, Komal Sing Ingti, teachers of Art of Living and village headman of different villages were also present.  

Solar lights were also distributed recently to 100 households in Kasojan village under Samelangso Block in Karbi Anglong. The lights were distributed by teachers of Art of Living Neelakshi Deka, Aroti Ingtipi Barman, Longbir Ingti and rural teachers Robi Ingti, Kamsing Kro, Kamal Ingti, Aroti Rongpharpi and volunteers in presence of Additiol Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Honmillee Teronpi and District Development Committee (DDC) members TK Barman and others.  This was stated in a press release.
