DERGAON, April 29: A 55-year-old former security official was axed to death by his 33-year-old son last night at Ratanpur village under Barpathar police station in Golaghat district.
Police arrested the accused son Ramesh Bora for murdering his father Biren Bora. He was remanded to judicial custody today.
Police sources said that the accused arrived at the residence of his father in the night and after talking for some time went into a heated argument with him. Patel was carrying an axe with him. In a fit of rage, he hit his father’s head with the axe and injured him severely. Biren Bora shouted for help and collapsed on the floor. Biren was taken to hospital where he was declared brought dead. Police investigation in the murder revealed that there was a dispute between the father and son. Following the dispute the son, who works as a security guard, attacked his father resulting in his death.
