Sonapur Forest Ranger Raid Against Illegal Sand Mining

DIMORIA: In a drive against illegal sand mining, a team led by Sonapur Forest Ranger Gautam Mahanta demolished five sand-mining sites in the Dimoria region this morning.

Illegal mining has been a major cause for concern along the Kolong-Kapili river considering the fact that this is located along the Kamrup (M)-Morigaon border.

The ranger has decided to go for some more measures to check the illegal mining and transportation. He has asked his team to carry out regular checks to ensure that no illegal sand-mining takes place in the region.

On Friday, around ten sand-mining sites were demolished in Oujari with the help of an earth-mover, besides seizing a dumper.
