Sonia condoles Friday's demise

SHILLONG, Dec 28: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Sonia Gandhi has condoled the death of Friday Lyngdoh. In a letter to the son of Lyngdoh, R Kharkongor, Gandhi said he was one Congress’ party respected and senior leader. “His demise is a major loss to the people of Meghalaya and leaves a void hard to fill,” the AICC president said while conveying her condolence message to the bereaved family. According to Sonia, he made remarkable contribution for the welfare of the people of the state in various capacities as Cabinet Minister, legislator and head of the Pradesh Congress Committee.
