Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal reviews schemes in Tinsukia district

Tinsukia, July 13: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal asked Tinsukia district administration to show more expediency in implementing the Central and State government schemes in the district. He also asked the administration to adhere time frame for the completion of each scheme for the welfare of all sections of the people of the district.

Chairing a review meeting at the conference hall of DC office at Tinsukia on Friday, Chief Minister Sonowal asked DC Oinam Charan Kumar Singh to monitor the implementation of all the schemes in the district. Taking stock of the implementation of Centre’s Saubhagya Scheme, he asked the APDCL functionary to electrify all the households in the district by December 2018. He also asked APDCL to take all the un-electrified households belonging to tea garden areas into the agenda of priority and electrify all the un-electrified households within the stipulated time frame. He also asked Tinsukia DC to monitor the implementation of the Saubhagya scheme so that 57,121 un-electrified households can be connected with electricity by December. He also asked the concerned authority to expedite distributing four LED bulbs to each family besides installing individual meters in the tea garden areas.

Taking review of the implementation of Ujjwala scheme, he asked Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department to complete distribution of LPG connections to all the beneficiary families within the stipulated time frame. He also took stock of prices of essential commodities and ordered the Supply Inspector to maintain constant surveillance on the market to regulate the prices. He also took stock of adulterated food items and asked the District administration to deal with food adulteration with iron hand.

Taking a stock of the connectivity of Tinsukia district, Sonowal asked PWD Department to complete construction of remaining 1415 length of rural roads in the district. He also issued instruction to convert all wooden bridges into concrete ones. He moreover, asked PHE Department to adhere to construction of good qualities toilets in the district. It may be mentioned that 14,449 toilets have already been constructed in the district and 16,310 more toilets will be constructed soon. The Chief Minister also directed the district administration to make the historic Chauldhowa Pond encroachment free and take steps for preserving the pond as per the guideline of Archaeological Survey of India.
