GUWAHATI, June 7: The rank holders of the last HSLC, High Madrassa and the HSSLC examinations were felicitated by the Assam unit of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha at a function held at the Guwahati Medical College & Hospital Auditorium in Guwahati on Thursday.
The felicitation function was attended by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal as the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries who attended the function were Minister Pijush Hazarika, Press Adviser to the Chief Minister Hrishikesh Goswami, Ministet Pallav Lochan Das, chief of the Assam unit of the BJP Ranjit Kr Dass among others.
On the occasion the Chief Minister extended warm greetings to all the rank holders for having come out with flying colours in their respective examinations. He told the students that their parents have put in hard work on account of which they could become toppers and asked them to thank their parents. He also told the students that there was no short cut to success and advised them to follow the path of honesty and hard work. The Chief Minister termed the rank holders as pride of Assam.
In the matter of hard work, Sonowal said that he, being the Chief Minister, is being compelled to work for 20 hours a day and said that it was his duty to work for the state. He further said that people outside were of the view that Assam was a land of flood and protest, adding that during Advantage Assam the potential of the state was revealed to the world with 22 countries extending support to the meet.
