Sori man robbed of bike at gun point

SORI, MAY 3: A man in Sori was robbed of his motorcycle at gun point today at around 12.00 pm while he was on his way to Sori from Bhojo area in Sivasagar district.  Sources said three miscreants allegedly beat up Chinmay Saikia of Nimogarh village at Tiok Rajabari Hanuman Mandir here and took away his bike at gun point.  “Saikia was on his way to Sori in some works. When he reached Tiok Rajabari Hanuman Mandir, three miscreants asked to stop him and when he stopped they asked his bike. When he refused to give, they bit him and forcefully took away the bike. One of the miscreants also fired in the air and went away towards Bhojo,” sources  added. A case has been registered in the matter and search operation is on to b the culprits. Police recovered some blank cartridges of 9 mm pistol from the spot.
