Sounder Strong Cajee to join NPP

SHILLONG, Nov 20: Former pressure group leader-turned-politician Sounder Strong Cajee is all set to join the tiol People’s Party (NPP) to contest the 2018 Assembly polls in Meghalaya from South Shillong constituency. According to sources, Cajee was swayed by his supporters to contest the elections on an NPP ticket. However, Cajee was not available for any comments. On 7yj November, Cajee resigned from the BJP, just a few months after joining the party. In the resigtion letter submitted to State BJP president Shibun, Cajee stated that the reason for his decision to quit the party was due to certain uvoidable circumstances. He had joined the BJP at a formal induction ceremony held at the Assam Club, Laban, in May this year.

Cajee had unsuccessfully contested the 2013 Assembly elections from South Shillong, a constituency that is currently being represented by tiolist Congress Party’s State chief Sanbor Shullai.
