2 CRPF personnel injured in grenade attack in Anantnag , Kashmir

Guwahati: In a sudden attack of suspected militants hurled a grenade in the South Kashmir region, two Para-military troopers were injured. the incident took place at Lal Chowk area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district. The injured troopers were immediately shifted to the nearby hospital and are informed that their condition is stable at present.

Further, the armed forced informed that there were firing upon the CRPF troopers as well who were deployed at the SBI branch of Anantnag. However, there is no news of serious injuries or any serious health condition of the CRPF. Later on, the area got cordoned off by the armed forces.

The incident took place on Friday morning leading the atmosphere of the locality gloomy and under strict surveillance of the CRPF. However, such incidents are not something new in the region as with every passing day there are instances of disturbances from the militants either making life difficult for the local people or for the armed forces. In another incident, earlier on Friday, another group of terrorists barged inside a JK Bank branch in Karpan area of Shopian district. this resulted into a cash loot and snatching of a 12 bore rifle from the private security guard who was debuted at the branch.

In another act of violence, two terrorists were gunned down by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Sopore district. With the militants and the security personnel at a continual practice of violence against each other, repeated news of encounters, injuries and deaths are being normal in the region.

Before this, two Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) terrorists were killed in an encounter on Thursday followed by them firing upon security forces in the Kupwara district, police said.

Earlier this week, an INSAS rifle was being snatched from a policeman in the Kupwara district of north Kashmir, but later this was recovered from the terrorists.
