SPA funds: BJP demands probe

Our Correspondent

Itagar, Mar 24: The BJP in Aruchal Pradesh has expressed serious concern over the alleged involvement of the education minister in an incident involving 'demanding of commission from SPA funds,' and the allegation that a Congress MLA harboured the persons who vandalized the RWD SE's office here. Saying such actions of the ruling Congress' minister and MLAs 'are destroying the cohesive growth of the state,' the party in a statement today demanded that the state government constitute a special investigation team to probe the two cases and book the culprits at the earliest.

It added that the party would, if need be, resort to democratic movement if the state government fails to act in the matters.

Earlier, four persons were held for demanding money from a local businessman Ta Pekhi Tara from the sanctioned amount of 12.5 crore meant for constructing government college at Doimukh.
